The Black Maidens today made their third win after beating New Zealand in a fiercely contested match. The Maidens beat their opponents 2 goals to nil to secure the top spot of their group table.
The Ghana U17 Women’s football team, Black Maidens remain unbeaten as they chalked their third consecutive win. Their consecutive win came as they beat New Zealand on match day 3 of 3 securing maximum points of 9 to top their group.

Prior to the last group game the coach expressed so much confidence in his team. “We are in Uruguay with a mission. To win and qualify from our group to the quarter-finals first. We are almost there and on Tuesday, we will complete that assignment.
“We have six points now, but the target is to pick all the maximum points and that will be the next mission on Tuesday,” said Adotey, who seems satisfied with the performance of his girls so far.
Indeed, the Maidens have played in a scintillating manner and do not look like losing a match anytime soon. The match, though tough, was manageable for the team. They played very well, holding up the midfield, keeping a good defensive shape, and denying opponents chances at goal.
