A campaign to boycott one of Ghana’s fastest growing music channels, 3 Music TV, is being championed by popular radio host and DJ, Slim after ethnocentric remarks.
DJ Slim in a series of tweets has vented his frustration in what is deemed as ethnocentric posts by Ezekiel Tetteh, Head of Productions for 3 Music TV. The former has launched an online campaign to cancel the network.
It is rather unfortunate that in a bid by Ezekiel Tetteh to champion video submissions, he rather lost his sentiments to an ethnic discrimination remarks.
Ezekiel, poplularly know as Stip, is also the CEO of Solid Multimedia: a prominent production studio based in Accra which caters for mostly music videos.
According to him, artists from Kumasi (Kumerica) should endeavour and submit their videos to the 3 Music TV. However, Ezekiel stated categorically;
“Sit in Kumasi and think you are Kanye West and don’t submit your HD video to 3Music TV, even your senior colleagues (A list) artists like Sarkodie and R2Bees sef are submitting 😂 Gbemi, dey there and eat bitter leaves stew, your time go pass like Kokoveli 😂😂siaaaa”.
His comment was not taken likely by many especially DJ Slim, who also referred to some of Ezekiel’s previous public statements as discriminatory.
According to one user;
In one of Ezekiel’s Facebook posts, he stated that inhabitants of Kumasi do not really understand the English language and thus, Obibini won his rap-beef against Amerado.
In view of this, a social media campaign which is being spearheaded by DJ Slim, many people are calling for Stip to resign or cancel the 3 Music TV and its awards scheme.
