Cardi B’s year just got all that much sweeter, she’s been chosen by MTV to open at the upcoming Video Music Awards(VMAs). The announcement comes as quite a surprise.
Cardi B was certainly going to be slated to perform but few would’ve imagined she’d be the opening act. After all, Invasion of Privacy feels like an eternity ago.

So many albums have come and gone, so many things have happened since hers dropped. Cardi B though has consistently been in the media for both musical and non-musical reasons. The VMAs is the first major musical showpiece since the passing of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Expect touching tributes for the woman who inspired generation upon generation with her music.
