Fondly called Champagne Papi, Drake has come through with official release date for ‘Certified Lover Boy’, shortly after Ye’s ‘Donda’ dropped.
Drake has revealed the release date for his highly-anticipated sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy.
Sharing a post on Instagram with an array of “pregnant women” emojis, Drake wrote: “CERTIFIED LOVER BOY SEPTEMBER 3.”
The album has seen several delays, with some reports stating that it was good to go toward the end of 2020 already.
However, in January 2021, Drake shared a statement on Instagram, saying that due to a knee injury, he would have to delay the release of the album. “I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” he wrote at the time.
In recent months, rumours began to fly, with many claiming that Drake had been keeping an eye on Kanye West with the idea of releasing his album around the same time that Donda dropped. With that, the feud between the two stars seemed to have reignited.
Kanye West’s long-delayed Donda Album arrived on Sunday, 29 August. On Monday, Drake shared the release date of his album. Make of that what you will (insert side-eye emoji here).
