Contrary to perceptions that he was leeching off the death of his daughter to attain fame and money, Nana Kwarteng laments that constantly being in the limelight is difficult. Many site his constant willingness to speak to the media, and a rumoured friction between himself and family over cash donations as indications that he was seeking attention. However, when asked by Prince Tsegah on ‘You Sey Wetin’ on Hitz FM, how he manages the fame now, he responded saying “it’s not easy, I wish I hadn’t gotten there, trust me.”
According to him, “everything has changed. I wanted to live my life.” Although admitting that he doesn’t have much of a choice now, he says “I hate my life now.” The father of late Ghanaian artiste, Ebony is of the opinion that it was too quick for her former manager, Bullet to “replace” her. Kwarteng told Prince Tsegah on HITZ FM, he thought it was too early for Bullet to introduce his new artistes to the world on the 2018 Ghana Music Awards stage. Bullet though felt this was not fair on the part of the family of the deceased an issued statement of his own on Facebook.
But responding in a post on Facebook, Bullet indicated that Ebony Reigns appreciates what he did for her even in her death. He mentioned that while people could not realize the good in her, he picked her and brought out the star in her leading to her winning some enviable awards in the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). He posted “I believe strongly u appreciate whatever I did for u in life and in death, cos when the whole world didn’t see ur value I saw the star in u, a diamond and a fearless queen.ebony reigns forever”.
