A global outage has been reported as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, with all their other sites are currently down.
According to DownDetector, users of Facebook network users started reporting outages around quarter past four (4) GMT.
Facebook and other services including Instagram and WhatsApp have gone down for nearly an hour.
More than 70,231 WhatsApp users reported issues using the instant messaging service; over 50,000 on Facebook and almost 30,000 users are also experience the downtime.
Facebook’s outtage seems to put a lot of businesses and individuals in a tight spot.
The reason for the global outage is yet to be known.
According the company’s Twitter account:
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram with their other services resume after 6-hour outage.
Mark Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook profile; “Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are coming back online now. Sorry for the disruption today — I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about.”
