At long last the tedious impasse is over as the students of KNUST are said to be reporting to school this week. This piece of news unlike the previous reports from KNUST though cannot be disregarded as all the relevant stakeholders have made hugely important statements today.

The school has been shut down since the fourth week of October with local students sent home and international students quarantined on campus with military protection around the clock.

The unprecedented events that occurred at KNUST are an example of what happens when we refuse to listen to the needs and wants of the people we serve. It is also a wakeup call to all of us as well as the relevant stakeholders that we do not wait for things to escalate to extremities before we act.
Proactivity will always be better than reactivity.
