Industry heavyweights have all thrown their weight behind him, Kwesi Arthur himself is totally confident he will win the award.

The nomination came as a bit of a surprise even to Kwesi Arthur himself. Nobody saw it  coming but hey here we are, he is up for the award and we ought to support him. Voting officially ended yesterday and the BET Awards comes on June 26 and will be hosted by the multitalented Jamie Foxx, it promises to be a big affair but for Kwesi Arthur aside winning the award it is a chance to send African music to the world.

Another opportunity to give African music the platform to shine, it is not just about his personal glory. And he made all this clear in a recent radio chat. The ‘Grind Day’ hitmaker stated that he was shocked by the news because he never anticipated that his music could travel that far within this short period of his existence in the industry.

Speaking to Kofi Asante on Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio, he expressed optimism that he will win the award come what may because Ghanaians are solidly behind him.

The campaign was an enormous one as people even got blocked from voting cause they were voting too much, again and again we voted.
