After the news confirming Leo Messi ‘s departure from FC Barcelona, the former captain in a press conference ended up in tears.
After playing for the team for 18 years, it is only right the player feels a sense of belonging and he will truly miss his home. Earlier as it was revealed that a deal to keep the 6-time ballon d’or winner was impossible, the club arrived at a conclusion to let him go.
Their reason was due to a serious financial cap and structural obstacle.
The Argentinean player just held a press conference at Camp Nou to bid farewell to stakeholders and his fans.
In the press conference, Messi said; This is very difficult for me after so many years to have lived all my life here. I am not ready.
Last year, when I sent a letter to leave the club, I was ready to speak up, and I knew what I wanted to say because I was convinced. But that is not the case this year.
My family and myself were convinced that we were going to stay in our home that was what we wanted the most.
Leo Messi futher went on to say; unfortunately, I am here today to say goodbye after many years, my life here.
He shortly burst into tears with long standing ovation.
