Former Lynx Entertainment signee, now an independent artist; MzVee has revealed the remote cause behind her departure from the label.
MzVee, a guest on United Showbiz with Nana Ama McBrown disclosed how her departure with Lynx Entertainment came about and that it was in no relation to any conflict with KiDi or Kuami Eugene as it was purported by some media.
Invited guests on the show included Wendy Shay, Queen Eshun, MzVee and Arnold; an entertainment panelist.
The one-hour TV show heard discussions from the top female artists talked about the male-dominated industry and the struggle dealing with record labels especially in Ghana.
Wendy Shay took the turn to acknowledge that it’s been a smooth ride for her and RuffTown Records. She rather emphasised on the female support from fellow females in the industry.
Queen Eshun, as she now affectionately called, recounted her experience with former lover and manager Steven Mensah and that it’s very important especially for female artists to have a legal representative to help them sign up to any record label. However, she never had any formal contract or verbal agreement with the former manager. She is now doing her own thing under Queen Eshun Music.
Further, MzVee made it public that she was signed to Lynx for 5 years and renewed for further 2 years. She had discussed it with Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx, about some personal issues which was weighing down on her. She even considered quitting music.
