Skin care product manufacturers Nivea has ‘finally’ responded to outcry of many Ghanaians who wanted their ill-advised campaign to come down.
UK-based Ghanaian singer Fuse ODG brought to millions’ attention the self condemnation message Nivea was propagating across the country. Other Ghanaian celebrities joined the uproar including Wiyaala who shared “A Visibly Darker Skin” photo.

The German company after rendering their unapologetic message on Facebook later took it off after the issue caught wildfire on international media.

According to a photo shared by Fuse ODG, Nivea is taking down one of the billboards which bore the message at Kasoa, in Ghana.
Meanwhile the same campaign still hangs on the former Miss Nigerian Omowunmi Akinnifesi‘s Instagram wall which some have lambasted her with insults.
However, after the take down exercise, many Ghanaians again would want the cosmetic producers to also issue an official apology.
