Otumfuo visits Okyehene clad in 83 year old kente
Yesterday marked an historic day as Otumfuo Osei Tutu II became the first Asantehene to step foot in Akyem land for over 300 years and he did it draped in kente made in 1935.
The Akyems and Asantes aren’t exactly what you’d call bitter enemies. They are two understandably proud states who have both carried on the legacies left to them by their forefathers.
As a result of a war of previous generations, there was some tension between the two states. That is something their current paramount chiefs have all sought to eradicate.
Otumfuo and Osagyefuo Amoatia are known to be friends already but with this visit the two states looked to finally usher in a period of great solidarity. Also checkout: Obinim now helping fraudsters to succeed
