Melanin. A hugely popular word these days, thanks in part to the embracing of black beauty and in part due to Sauti Sol’s hit also titled Melanin.
[img src:ig/djmensah]African is the world’s leading location of melanin. There are more dark-skinned people than there are light-skinned people on our continent. But for years our artistes have gone to extreme lengths to find light-skinned video vixens for their videos, some go to the extent of flying some into the country from the Western World but the public wants that no more.

You see we have come to a point where we are accepting ourselves as we are, we are loving ourselves just as we are, we are using our definition of beauty, no longer are we comparing our women to a so-called international standard. Thus you can understand the outrage of the public when Sarkodie and DJ Mensah utilised light-skinned girls in the video. This is even worsened by the fact that Sarkodie’s beautiful partner Tracy Sarkcess happens to a melanin babe, by all accounts the public are surprised that he of all people would stand aside and let this happen.
Social media has been touching the Untouchable DJ Mensah and Sarkodie over their latest video which according to most women, is a disrespect to them. To these women, Dj Mensah using only light-skinned ladies to play full concept of the video, forgetting his very own black beauties is a bit disappointing from his end.
Others also believe the song “Say I Do” seems to be a love song and could come up with a beautiful traditional wedding concept to project the beauty of our culture, however, that wasn’t the case. Reaching DJ Mensah over this, he says there is nothing he can say for now but until then, the director which is Yaw Skyface is best to answer such questions.

Despite concerns for the video, its views keep growing each and every single day. Sarkodie on “Say I Do” talks about him falling in love with this beautiful lady he met, and why he will marry her anytime soon The concept alone is another reason why we think he should have featured a dark-skinned woman to play a role in it.
