Sarkodie had a couch conversation with the popular Tim Westwood to talk about his recent released album “No Pressure” and Kumerica.
The rapper extraordinaire had an extensive talk with Tim revealing how his feature with Giggs came about. Talking about UK rap artists, Sark said Giggs has been one of his top favourites for a long time.
On his current project, Sarkodie reiterated how much external influence was not his cup of tea and thus, he isn’t pressured to succumb to critics. He wanted to maintain his originality.
He also said, after making Black Love album which was dominated by Afrobeats, it was about his current feeling to now make a hiphop album.
Sark also noted that “No Pressure” is his seventh (7) album.
At the latter part of the conversation, Tim asked Sarkodie; which was his favourite freestyle session on the Tim Westwood TV apart from him. The rapper gave a diplomatic answer, however, he commended the likes of M.anifest, Kwesi Arthur and Medikal.
Sarkodie also tipped Amerado as being one of the best rapper to hold the mantle for Ghana. He further addressed the new trend of the Asakaa and Kumerica movement. The BET-winner said he’s been told several times to jump on the bandwagon but he couldn’t resonate with lifestyle especially now that he is a father of two (2) – a boy and a girl. He couldn’t now say certain unfiltered words in his music.
He said, it is authentic to the Kumericans and he does enjoy them.
